Thompson (1893–1967) was an American artist known for his landscape and genre paintings. Born in the late 19th century, Thompson’s work largely focused on rural American scenes, capturing the everyday life of small towns and the beauty of the countryside. His style leaned toward realism, often depicting serene landscapes with an emphasis on detail and a soft color palette. Thompson’s works were highly regarded during his lifetime, with many of his paintings reflecting the changing American landscape during the early 20th century. He often painted farms, fields, and villages, portraying a sense of nostalgia for simpler times. Though not as widely known as some of his contemporaries, Thompson's paintings have been appreciated for their peaceful depictions of nature and rural life, and his works continue to be sought after by collectors.
